Hands-On, Job-Ready Industry Skills

Amatrol's Electrical Fabrication 1 training system covers industry-relevant essential electrical fabrication skills. These skill areas include test checking with a voltage tester, checking electrical components for UL and CSA standards approval, stripping insulation from wires, installing spade-lug connectors, connecting wires to a terminal strip, reading and interpreting a wiring installation plan, and safely and properly installing electrical wiring, lighting, and components.

Safety Emphasized at All Levels

The 96-ELF1 not only teaches students proper installation of electrical wiring and components but also the importance of safe installation. Student curriculum emphasizes basic safety rules as well as the National Electrical Code (NEC) and other safety approval ratings. Students develop skills to identify and work with components that are marked with these safety ratings. Students also learn about and apply circuit protection and how to properly operate, install, and test circuit breakers.

Interactive Electrical Fabrication eLearning Curriculum

Amatrol's electrical fabrication training system features interactive eLearning curriculum that integrates various types of learning methods to create an engaging, effective learning experience. Amatrol’s multimedia eLearning curriculum includes text with voiceovers, videos, 3D animations, pictures, and interactive activities, quizzes, and self-reviews. Specific electrical fabrication topics covered include: electrical safety; wire stripping and termination techniques; nonmetallic cable, switch, and outlet installation; lighting installation; service connection; and circuit protection. Within these topics, learners will study objectives like installing a spade-lug connector on a wire; installing a switch and an outlet in a junction box; connecting a wiring system to a service panel; and installing and connecting a 3-way switch lighting circuit.

Free Learning Management System (LMS)

Amatrol eLearning is easy-to-use for both students and instructors. Its web-based interface is simple to navigate and available on any WebGL-compatible Internet browser. Instructors love Amatrol eLearning for its simple, yet sophisticated Learning Management System (LMS). The LMS allows instructors to create custom courses, monitor student participation, track course progress, assess knowledge levels prior to a course, and test knowledge levels after completion. Learners appreciate the fact that they can start and stop as needed, moving through each Amatrol course at their own pace. If a self-review reveals that they didn’t understand a particular topic as well as they thought they did, they can revisit it before moving on.
