Amatrol Multimedia Computer Requirements

Minimum system requirements to run Amatrol’s multimedia locally on a PC:

  • 2.2 GHz Processor
  • 8 GB RAM
  • 100 GB free hard drive space
  • 64-Bit Windows Operating System
  • Sound card (or onboard sound)
  • Video card (or onboard video) capable of 800×600 resolution with 24-bit color
  • Harmon’s Adobe Air (for specific titles only)
  • CD-ROM drive for software installation if client is to be stand-alone or internet connection to use online installer for software installation
  • Network capability if curriculum is to be on a server. Wireless Networks: 8 Mbps per connected PC (i.e. a 56 Mbps wireless network should service no more than 7 PCs)

Amatrol Multimedia Local Server Computer Requirements

Minimum system requirements for a local server computer to serve Amatrol’s multimedia to local client computers:

Amatrol’s multimedia content can have a significant impact on the network. Over the course of an hour, each student could go through as much as 100MB of content. With just 20 students, that’s 2GB/hr, or an average of about 5Mbps. While this is not a constant stream, there are spikes and drop-offs in network impact, so a 54Mbps wireless network will be susceptible to delays when several stations are hitting the server at once.

**Important to note:**
Windows Server software is recommended for the server. Windows 8 is limited to 5 simultaneous connections. This indicates that Windows 8 cannot be used as the server software when more than 5 students need to run multimedia at the same time.
