Learning Topics

  • Smart Stack Light Functions
  • Operation and Components of TCP/IP Ethernet and PROFINET Networks
  • Configuration and Operation of a Smart Stack Light Using a PLC
  • Design and Operation of PLC Projects Using Smart Stack Lights

Amatrol’s Smart Factory Stack Light Learning Systems come in both Allen-Bradley and Siemens versions:

  • Allen-Bradley: Mechatronics Smart Device 4 Learning System – AB CompactLogix L16, Stack Light (87-SN4AB53A)
  • Siemens: Mechatronics Smart Device 4 Learning System – Siemens S7-1500, Stack Light (87-SN4S715)

These systems teach Ethernet (Allen-Bradley) or PROFINET (Siemens) network communications between a stack light and other smart automation devices in a Smart Factory environment to efficiently control and monitor automated manufacturing processes.

The Smart Factory network communications training systems feature real-world equipment learners will encounter on the job. The systems combine hands-on skills practice with in-depth multimedia curriculum for a well-rounded learning experience that will prepare learners to make an immediate impact in the technologically-advanced Smart Factory environments of the present and future.

Practice on Real-World Equipment Using Smart Factory Components

Amatrol’s training systems teach learners essential skills using industrial-quality equipment they’ll use in the workplace. For example, learners will gain valuable hands-on experience with either an 8-channel Ethernet/IP communications switch (Allen-Bradley) or 4-port managed PROFINET switch (Siemens). Using this real-world equipment, learners will gain an understanding of the function, operation, and configuration of a stack light in a Smart Factory setting.

Learn Industry-Applicable Network Communication Skills

Amatrol’s comprehensive curriculum covers a wide variety of important communications skills. For example, learners will study the stack light’s three programmable modes (segment, level, and runlight) in the context of a PLC project. Additional skills and topics include smart stack light concepts, operation, set-up, and configuration; PLC programming; and I/O Link protocol.

Engaging, Highly-Interactive Multimedia

Amatrol’s curriculum features a highly-interactive, multimedia format that includes stunning 3D graphics and videos, voiceovers of all text, and interactive quizzes and exercises designed to appeal to learners with different learning styles. The combination of theoretical knowledge and hands-on skills solidifies understanding and creates a strong basis for pursuing more advanced skills.
