PLC Process Control Training | Allen-Bradley & Siemens PLC Programming Skills

Learning Systems: 99-PCAB53A/99-PCS712/89-PC-AB5500

Amatrol offers three PLC Process Control training systems to teach the basics of PLC-based process control and its various applications:

  • Allen-Bradley CompactLogix L16 PLC (99-PCAB53A)
  • Siemens S7-1200 PLC (99-PCS712)
  • Allen-Bradley ControlLogix 500/RSLogix 5000 PLC (89-PC-AB5500)

These PLC Process Control training systems cover on/off and open loop control methods by allowing learners to use a variety of programmable logic controllers to control the Level and Flow Process Control Troubleshooting Learning System (T5552). This training is vital for anyone currently working in or interested in the field of PLC automation or process control, which is used in pharmaceutical plants, refineries, and chemical manufacturing facilities.

These training systems include an analog cable set, a discrete cable set, in-depth curriculum, and a student reference guide. Learners will use these components and materials to study on/off control with both discrete and analog inputs, open loop control, diaphragm valves, PID instruction, and more!

Learning Topics

  • On/Off Control with Discrete & Analog Input
  • Open Loop Control
  • Diaphragm Valves
  • 3-Way Proportional Valves
  • Closed Loop Control, Performance, & Tuning
  • PID Instruction

Training on Hands-On PLC-Operated Process Control Skills

Amatrol's PLC Process Control training systems teach hands-on skills to develop a learner’s confidence and competence when working on real-world systems. These skills feature step-by-step explanations of what is being accomplished and why each step is important towards the fulfillment of the process. Specific PLC Process Control skills covered include: designing a PLC routine to control an on/off process control system; entering a PLC ladder routine that uses a PID instruction to control level; and designing a PLC routine to provide open loop control of a diaphragm valve.

Study Real-World PLC Applications on a Process Control System

Amatrol's PLC Process Control training systems interact with Amatrol's Level and Flow Process Control Troubleshooting Learning System and a variety of PLCs to focus on PLC-controlled level and flow applications in two-position, open loop, and closed loop systems. As an example of the curriculum’s depth, learners will study two-position process control systems with both discrete and analog inputs. Two-position control is a control method commonly used in process control applications to maintain a process variable within a specified operating range.

In-Depth Curriculum

Specific differential pressure flow topics covered include: identifying differential pressure flow sensors; measuring flow using a Venturi tube flow sensor and a differential pressure flow transmitter; and constructing and operating a flow control loop using a differential pressure sensor.

Engaging Electronic Curriculum

Amatrol's PLC Process Control training systems feature engaging electronic curriculum. The 99-PCAB53A & 99-PCS712 systems feature Amatrol's interactive eLearning curriculum that integrates various types of learning methods to create an engaging, effective learning experience. Amatrol’s multimedia eLearning curriculum includes text with voiceovers, videos, 3D animations, pictures, and interactive activities, quizzes, and self-reviews.

The 89-PC-AB5500 curriculum features printed & bound learning activity packets that can also be accessed in a convenient eBook format. Amatrol’s eBooks look like real books and allow users to flip between pages with ease. Enhanced with features such as keyword searches and zoom controls that enable users to quickly locate and view information, eBooks are fantastic learning tools.
