Amatrol’s eLearning curriculum is unique in that it thoughtfully combines in-depth theoretical knowledge with practical, hands-on skills. This powerful combination of knowledge and skills solidifies understanding and creates a strong foundation for pursuing more advanced skills. For example, the print reading eLearning course covers important topics, such as:
Learners begin with an introduction to print reading, including multiview drawings and basic dimensioning. Individual lessons focus on topics like dimensions, line precedence, and angular and circular features. Learners will also practice skills, such as interpreting print drawings when shown an object, selecting the front view of an object, and interpreting angular dimension features on a print.
Sectional Drawings and Fasteners
Learners will study the basic principles of sectional drawings and fasteners, including advanced dimensioning and assembly drawings. Individual lessons focus on topics like drawing scales, title blocks, and types of fasteners. Learners will also practice skills, such as determining a dimension of an object given an undimensioned scaled drawing, identifying the size and type of fastener given an example, and interpreting an assembly drawing.
Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing
Learners using Amatrol’s print reading eLearning course will study basic principles of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, including assembly tolerances and feature control frames. Individual lessons focus on topics like types of conventional tolerances, baseline dimensions, types of geometric features, and the parts of a feature control frame. Learners will also practice skills, such as determining if a part dimension is within tolerance using conventional tolerancing, identifying the correct datum to use as a reference point, and selecting a feature control frame for a part drawing.
