Fundamentals of Pneumatics and Pneumatic Skills and Applications

Amatrol’s Pneumatic training begins with the Basic Pneumatics Learning System – Single Surface Bench (850-P1) or the Basic Pneumatics Learning System – Double Sided A-Frame Bench (850-PD1). Each of these systems include the Basic Pneumatics Learning System as well as the large variety of expansions listed below:

Basic Pneumatics Learning System (85-BP): introduces pneumatic principles, such as single-acting cylinder circuits, pressure vs. cylinder force, and flow control valves, and skills like connecting and operating a needle valve to control actuator speed.

Intermediate Pneumatics Learning System (85-IP): builds on basic pneumatic knowledge by introducing more advanced concepts such as air logic, ways to decelerate a pneumatic cylinder, and how to prevent condensation in a pneumatic circuit, as well as skills like connecting and operating a two-way valve and changing an air filter element.

Advanced Pneumatics Learning System (85-AP): covers a diverse range of topics, such as how air bearings, pneumatic motors, and pneumatic cylinders are used to move loads; applications for vacuums such as food packaging, as well as how to measure vacuum levels; and a comprehensive look at air compressors, their components, and how to safely operate them.

Electro-Pneumatics Learning System (85-EP): covers electrical relay control of pneumatic systems and their industry applications and allows learners to set up a variety of industrial relay control circuits using ladder diagrams and Boolean logic.

Electro-Fluid Power Learning System (85-EF): teaches electrical relay control of hydraulic and pneumatic systems through topics like industrial relay control circuits using ladder diagrams and Boolean logic and offers industry-relevant skills like developing a sequence of operations given an application, connecting and operating an indicator lamp given a ladder diagram, and many more.

Pneumatic Troubleshooting

Pneumatic Troubleshooting Learning System (950-PT1): models a real-world electro-pneumatic machine, driven by an Allen-Bradley MicroLogix 1200 programmable logic controller, and features over 30 electronically-inserted pneumatic, mechanical and electrical faults using FaultPro, Amatrol’s state-of-the-art fault insertion software.
