Stall Bar Training | Learn to Use Torque Tool to Assembly Fasteners

Model Name: Stall Bar Learning System

Model Number: 95-PAS4

Learning Topics

The 95-PAS4 Stall Bar Learning System teaches learners how to use a stall bar torque tool to assemble threaded fasteners. These are often used in assembly operations requiring very accurate torque.

The model 95-PAS4 includes a pneumatic 50NM nutrunner with stall bar, 19MM socket, multimedia learning materials for both theory and lab, and teacher’s assessment guide. The multimedia-based curriculum includes virtual simulation of key skills, allowing learners to practice skills in advance of actually working on the equipment. This system uses industrial quality components to help assure that students are better prepared for what they will encounter on the job and to withstand frequent student use. The interactive multimedia curriculum can be accessed anywhere, allowing businesses to increase delivery of high quality assembly practices in far flung organizations.

What is a Stall Bar? How Do Stall Bars Work?

A stall bar is an L-shaped bar mounted near the front of the torque tool. It is used to prevent the handle of the torque tool from turning when the application requires a high torque value, but a small tool is necessary due to space or clearance limitations.

When air is supplied to the torque tool, the bar will begin to move in a counterclockwise direction around the center of the fastener, which is opposite the direction that the fastener will be turned. At this time, torque is not being supplied to the fastener. When the stall bar contacts an immovable surface, it will “stall”. At the time, the tool applies torque to the fastener while the stall bar braces the tool from the reaction forces of the tool and prevents the tool handle from twisting in the assembler’s hand.
