Technical Curriculum Designer – Automation Team | Amatrol

Amatrol is looking for a hands-on manager to help design and develop technical curriculum in Industry 4.0 areas such as industrial automation, robotics, controls, sensors, etc. Part of the job is to act as a developer – actively creating learning system materials for the automation workspace such as multimedia / web content and hands-on, job-ready technical skills. The other part of this positon is to directly lead a small staff of curriculum development professionals to create customer ready content that is a superior learning experience.

Essential Functions:

  • Develop and edit interactive technical curriculum content that covers a broad spectrum of technologies.
  • Manage a professional staff of technical curriculum developers.
  • Collaborate with engineering and publication teams to create products.
  • Research concepts and new topic areas as new projects are added – and we have a lot of projects!
  • Track projects and generate reports as needed.


  • 5 years community college or university level teaching experience (Required)
  • Bachelor degree in a technical or scientific discipline such as Automation, Engineering, Technology, Computer Science (Required)
  • Industrial automation experience: 5 years (Required)
  • 2 years management experience (Required)
  • Excellent knowledge of industrial automation (Required)
  • Excellent English editorial and written content development skills with complex technical content (Required)
  • Excellent analytical and reasoning skills (Required)
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills (Required)

Preferred Skills:

  • Master’s degree in technical or scientific discipline (Preferred)
  • Instructional design background (Preferred)
