Technical Curriculum Designer 1 – Electrical & Mechanical Team | Amatrol

Lead the enhancement and expansion of Amatrol’s core training systems (200+) in Electrical and Mechanical topics. Amazingly, there is much more to be done!

Amatrol is looking for a hands-on manager to help design and develop technical curriculum in electrical and mechanical areas such as motor control, mechanical drives, fluid power, and more. Part of the job is to act as a developer – actively creating and improving learning system materials for the electrical & mechanical workspace such as multimedia / web content and hands-on, job-ready technical skills. The other part of this positon is to directly lead a small staff of curriculum development professionals to create customer ready content that is a superior learning experience.

Essential Functions:

  • Develop and edit interactive technical curriculum content that covers a broad spectrum of electrical and mechanical technologies.
  • Manage a professional staff of technical curriculum developers.
  • Collaborate with engineering and publication teams to create products.
  • Research concepts and new topic areas as new projects are added – and we have a lot of projects!
  • Track projects and generate reports as needed.


  • 5 years community college or university level teaching experience (Required)
  • Bachelor degree in a technical or scientific discipline such as Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, etc. (Required)
  • Industrial electrical and/or mechanical experience: 5 years (Required)
  • 2 years management experience (Required)
  • Excellent knowledge of applied industrial electrical & mechanical technology (Required)
  • Excellent English editorial and written content development skills with complex technical content (Required)
  • Excellent analytical and reasoning skills (Required)
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills (Required)

Preferred Skills:

  • Master’s degree in technical or scientific discipline (Preferred)
  • Instructional design background (Preferred)
